The Student Maintenance Worker performs lawn care at the Wellington County Museum and Archives and assists the Maintenance team.


  • Lawn maintenance.
  • Assist with projects, such as fence building and interior painting.
  • Assist with rental rooms, set up and take down.
  • Assist with janitorial duties.
  • Other duties as required by the Administrator and Maintenance Supervisor.


  • Enrollment in a secondary school, college, or university programme, in a full-time capacity for the fall semester.
  • Ability to operate a 70HP tractor is an asset. 
  • Ability to use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to operate zero turn mowers and weed eaters.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Heavy lifting required.
  • Ability to drive a pickup truck.
  • A valid driver’s licence (minimum G2 Class) and a satisfactory driver’s abstract.

Pay Range: $18.50 - $20.00 (2024 Student Compensation Grid).

Pension: As a non-full-time (NFT) employee of an OMERS employer, you are eligible to elect to join the OMERS Pension Plan at any time. Enrollment in OMERS is voluntary.

Medical Responsibility Time: One day for every 1,000 hours worked, up to a maximum of three days annually. 

Vacation: Paid out on each pay at the rate of six percent; increases based on length of service.

Mileage: If applicable, as per CRA allowances.
