Position Type: Student Co-op; to be eligible for a student position, the applicant must be enrolled in a secondary school, college, or university programme, in a full-time capacity for the winter semester.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week: regular schedule is 8:30 am - 4:00 pm onsite/in-person; flexibility of hours may be required. This student position is available from early January until the end of April.
Work Location: Administration Centre, Guelph; the County of Wellington is an employer that provides service onsite.

BASIC FUNCTION

This position reports to the Manager of Privacy and Information and will support the Information Management (IM) team with the maintenance and testing of the corporate electronic records management system (SharePoint Online), associated record repositories, staff intranet, and public websites.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Manager of Privacy and Information, the Information Management Co-op Student has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Assist with maintaining the County’s public websites and staff intranet using Drupal, an open-source content management system (CMS).
  • Assist with maintenance and testing of SharePoint Online.
  • Assist the IM team with Data Loss Prevention activities using Microsoft Purview.
  • Research and recommend solutions to enhance the efficiency and modernization of IM-related processes and procedures. 
  • Review and analyze electronic files according to their record classification within SharePoint Online.
  • Process documents for scanning and electronic storage in SharePoint Online. 
  • Inventory and organization of physical records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled in University or College Co-op Programme in a full-time capacity, preferably with a focus in Information Management or related field such as Library and Information Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science and/or Business Administration.
  • Experience creating, editing, and publishing content on a website platform.
  • Computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft 365, software applications, and electronic file management.
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint Online is considered an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Drupal, or other open-source CMS, is considered an asset.

Pay Range: $28.88 - $37.13 (2026 Student Compensation Grid)
Pension: As a non-full-time (NFT) employee of an OMERS employer, you are eligible to elect to join the OMERS Pension Plan at any time. Enrollment in OMERS is voluntary.
Vacation: Paid out on each pay at the rate of six percent.
Parking: Provided; taxable benefit provisions apply.
