BASIC FUNCTION

The County of Wellington requires a self-motivated college student to assist with a variety of functions within the County’s Treasury Department. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail and have a proven record of meeting deadlines.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Manager of Purchasing and Risk Management Services, the Purchasing and Risk Project Analyst (Co-op) may have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Entry and verification of vendors/customers into JD Edwards software.
  • Assist with bidding process and posting in Bids and Tenders software.
  • Participate in bid evaluation process.
  • Assist with purchasing and risk management related tasks.
  • Assist with posting assets for disposal on Gov Deals.
  • Assist with tracking certificates of insurance and WSIB.
  • Perform general office administration tasks.
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrolled in college full time supply chain program.
  • Experience with JD Edwards Software and Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range: $24.91 - $32.02 (2025 Student Compensation Grid)
Pension: As a non-full-time (NFT) employee of an OMERS employer, you are eligible to elect to join the OMERS Pension Plan at any time. Enrollment in OMERS is voluntary.
Medical Responsibility Time: One day for every 1,000 hours worked, up to a maximum of three days annually. 
Vacation:  Paid out on each pay at the rate of six percent; increases based on length of service.
Parking: Provided; taxable benefit provisions apply.
Mileage: If applicable, as per CRA allowances.
