Position Type: Student; to be eligible for a student position, the applicant must be enrolled in a secondary school, college, or university programme, in a full-time capacity for the fall semester.
Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week: regular schedule is 8:30 am - 4:00 pm onsite/in-person; flexibility of hours may be required. This student position is available from early May until the end of August.

BASIC FUNCTION
This position reports to the Data Management Coordinator The Administration Student will be responsible for assisting with the communications and outreach programmes, research functions, working on assigned projects, and coverage of selected office clerk duties. The Administration Student will also work directly with the Collections Supervisor to assist in the implementation and evaluation of business recycling programmes.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research and working on assigned projects from various SWS supervisors.
- Coverage of SWS clerk duties including; answering phone and email inquiries, logging calls and emails received.
- Re-organizing shelving/file folders/boxed records. Preparing records for storage or destruction.
- Participate in the creation, and implementation of presentations for various events, both for schools, and within the community.
- Assist in the implementation and evaluation of business recycling programmes in downtown collection areas as well as in non-collection areas throughout the County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Enrollment in a secondary school, college or university programme, in a full-time capacity for the fall semester.
- Good written and oral communication, and listening skills;
- Experience using Microsoft Office programmes including Excel and Access.
- Interest in environmental, records management, or media studies would be an asset.
- A valid driver’s licence (minimum G2 Class) and a satisfactory driver’s abstract.
Pay Range: $19.00 - $20.00 (2025 Student Compensation Grid)
Pension: As a non-full-time (NFT) employee of an OMERS employer, you are eligible to elect to join the OMERS Pension Plan at any time. Enrollment in OMERS is voluntary.
Vacation: Paid out on each pay at the rate of six percent.
Parking: Provided; taxable benefit provisions apply.
Mileage: If applicable, as per CRA allowances.
