BASIC FUNCTION

The Library Page is accountable to the Branch Supervisor for shelving library material and keeping the shelves clean and organized, as well as referring the public to the appropriate library staff for assistance with their library needs.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shelve library material.
  • Shelf-reading to ensure books and materials are in proper order.
  • Refer patrons to the appropriate library staff for assistance.
  • Assist with other library work and special projects as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum completion of Grade nine. 
  • Work or volunteer experience in a library setting preferred. 
  • Enjoy reading and able to follow directions and work independently.
  • Detail oriented and able to work at routine tasks.

Pay Range: $21.32 - $24.94 (2025 Non-Union Compensation Grid)

Pension:  As a non-full-time (NFT) employee of an OMERS employer, you are eligible to elect to join the OMERS Pension Plan at any time. Enrollment in OMERS is voluntary.

Medical Responsibility Time: One day for every 1,000 hours worked, up to a maximum of three days annually. 

Vacation: Paid out on each pay at the rate of six percent; increases based on length of service.  

Mileage: If applicable, as per CRA allowances.
